ISOMAT AK16 is a high performance, cement base polymer-modified adhesive. It offers highinitial and final adhesive strength and resistance to moisture. It is qualified as absolutely non-slip and shows increased open time.It is classified as type C2TE adhesive according to EN 12004.Fields of applicationISOMAT AK 16 is suitable for fixing absorbent or non-absorbent tiles (e.g. “gres porcellanato”), on walls or floors on varioussubstrates, especially where particularly high adhesion, elasticity and moisture resistance are required. It is suitable for indoor or outdoor use.Technical dataForm: cementitious mortarColors: grey, whiteWater demand: 6.75 kg/25 kg bagApplication temperature: from +50ºC to +350ºCApplication thickness: up to 15 mmPot life: at least 6 hOpen time: at least 30 minMinor adjustmentsopen time: at least 30 minPointing on walls: after 3-8 hPointing on floors: after 24 hSlip: ≤ 0.5 mmAdhesive strength after:• 28 days: ≥ 1.20 N/mm2• heating in +70ºC: ≥ 1.20 N/mm2• immersion in water: ≥ 1.00 N/mm2• 25 freeze-thaw cycles: ≥ 1.10 N/mm2Temperature resistance: from -300ºC to +900ºCAll measurements were conducted according to EN 12004.Directions for use1. Substrate preparationThe surface to be overlaid must be clean, free of dust, grease, paint, loose material etc.Dampening of the substrate before application is recommended.2. ApplicationISOMAT AK 16 is gradually added into water under continuous stirring, until a uniform pasteis formed. A low revolution mixer is recommended for mixing. The mixture should be left about 10 minutes tosettle and should be stirred slightly again. The tile adhesive should be spread (“combed”) onthe substrate using a notched trowel, in order to be uniformly applied on the whole surface. The tiles should be fixed by pressing them in the desired position. The applied mixture must be covered with tileswithin 30 minutes in order to avoid “skin” formation, i.e. before the adhesive film starts setting.ElastificationFor tiling on unstable substrates subject to vibrations or contraction-expansion effects, such as gypsum boards, chipboards, in-floor heating floors, terraces, balconies etc. it isnecessary that the tile adhesive be elastified with the addition of 5-10 kg of ADIFLEX-B to25 kg of ISOMAT AK 16 plus a quantity of water depending on the desired workability.Consumption1.5-4.0 kg/m2, depending on the trowel’s notch size and the nature of the substrate.
Colored, elastic one-component tile jointing mastic. Suitable for grouting any type of wall or floor tiles, on a variety of surfaces where the requirements for elasticity are particularly high (eg expansion joints, etc.). It is applied indoors or outdoors.

Specifications: EN 12004 C2TE-S2Description: High performance cement-based acrylic tile adhesive, with extended open time and no vertical slip. Exhibits high elasticity, excellent adhesion on all substrates, resistance to constant moisture, to frost and intense substrate movements.Applications: Interior and exterior floor and wall bonding of all types and sizes of ceramic tiles, natural stone, marble, granite, porcelain ceramic, on cementitious renders, cementitious screeds and concrete.Product Identity Appearance: cement-based powder Storage: 9 months in the original packaging, in a dry place Particle size: 0-0.8mm Grouting: 24 h * * The time for grouting or for final use may vary depending on weather conditions, application thickness and the porosity of the substrate. Adhesion Strength≥ 1 Ν/mm2 according ΕΝ 12004 1 Ν/mm2 30 min open time 3.1 Ν/mm2 after 28 days 2.1 Ν/mm2 after water immersion 2.7 Ν/mm2 after heat ageing 2.5 Ν/mm2 after freeze/thaw cycles Slip 0.2 mm Deformability: 5.8mmTemperature when in use: -30ºC-+90ºC ApplicationWith the flat side of the trowel apply the adhesive to the substrate, pressing firmly to work into surface. Comb on additional adhesive with the notched side. Use the proper sized notched trowel to insure full bedding of the tile. The open time of ALFAKOL 15* is 30 minutes. Install the tiles within this period, in order to avoid skin formation. Place tiles into wet, sticky adhesive and beat in using a beating block and rubber mallet to imbed tiles and adjust level. If mortar is skinned over (not sticky), remove and replace with fresh mortar. Unfavourable climatic conditions (high temperature, low humidity, wind, etc) can reduce this time to just a few minutes. Substrates Preparation Substrates must be mechanically sound, free of loose particles, grease, oil or other materials that reduce the adhesion. Dampening of the substrate before application is recommended. The substrate must be stable without cracks and have already completed the curing period of hygrometric shrinkage. Uneven sections must be corrected with suitable smoothing and finishing product. Preparing the mix Gradually pour the material to a bucket of clean water mixing constantly with a low speed (400 rpm) electric mixer until a creamy consistency is achieved. Allow mixture settle for 5 minutes and remix prior the application. Attention! Additional water will make your mixture sloppy and may cause negative results on final strength.
